Troubleshooting remote desktop login problems


I successfully connect to the VPN but my computer credentials are rejected:

  • Make sure that you are using the same username that you use to log in to your office computer. This is typically your olemiss webid.
  • If your office computer is on a domain, you will need to also include the domain name as part of the username. Common examples include SOE\webid, CARRIER\webid, and GEOLOGY\webid.
  • Make sure that you are using the login password for your office computer. It is likely not the same as your password for other olemiss services.

I successfully connected to the VPN but I get an error message saying my office computer is unavailable when attempting to remote desktop:

  • Make sure that you are connected to the VPN by looking for the presence of a "padlock" icon over the Cisco Anyconnect logo in your notification bar.
  • Make sure that there are no typos in the ip address that you are using to remote with.
  • Your office computer may have powered off for some reason. File a ticket with us, and we will resolve the issue.
