Troubleshooting remote desktop login problems
Solution
I successfully connect to the VPN but my computer credentials are rejected:
Make sure that you are using the same username that you use to log in to your office computer. This is typically your olemiss webid.
If your office computer is on a domain, you will need to also include the domain name as part of the username. Common examples include SOE\webid, CARRIER\webid, and GEOLOGY\webid.
Make sure that you are using the login password for your office computer. It is likely not the same as your password for other olemiss services.
I successfully connected to the VPN but I get an error message saying my office computer is unavailable when attempting to remote desktop:
Make sure that you are connected to the VPN by looking for the presence of a "padlock" icon over the Cisco Anyconnect logo in your notification bar.
Make sure that there are no typos in the ip address that you are using to remote with.
Your office computer may have powered off for some reason. File a ticket with us, and we will resolve the issue.
